Complex fibroadenomas are more common in older women and may slightly increase the risk of breast cancer.

FAs with any one of the following features are diagnosed as complex FA

• Sclerosing adenosis
• Papillary apocrine hyperplasia
• Cysts (>3 mm)
• Epithelial calcifications
